Belated Mother's Day Gift

For mother's day 2 years ago when I could not come up with a gift for my mom I just told her I would take her out and do something. The year went by and we did nothing that "counted" as the Mother's Day gift. This year I again asked her what she wanted and it was still the same thing. She wanted me and my sister to do something with her. I had shopping and dinner in mind. She had go a country concert in mind. Strange b/c I have never known my mom to listen to music. I have never been in the car with her when she has even had the radio on. She did get a few country music CD's for Christmas. She asked for them but I don't know why. Anyhow, she wanted to go to this concert and she only wanted it to be the three of us. So I bought my ticket and the one for my mom and then my mom bought my sister's ticket b/c no way was she paying for Pavilion seating.  We went to the Brad Paisley concert. I have not been to a concert since high school I think. It was fine. I was glad to be in the Pavilion b/c it was raining part of the night. I was shocked at how much everything cost. I think it would have been a slightly different experience if I was with friend and not my mom but overall the evening went better than expected. No major fights. I think my mom, and I know my sister, enjoyed the concert. Blake Shelton was the opener and it just so happened to be his birthday, so his wife (Miranda Lambert) surprised him and sang with him. They tried playing jokes on him all evening as you can see in the picture with the fat guy. It was entertaining. Finally Brad Paisley came out. I though he put on a good show. I think concerts start way too late but that is b/c I am not a late night person at all. I didn't enjoy sitting in the parking lot for 45 minutes just to get out of the place. Got home way way way past my bedtime. I also have to say I didn't like the people blowing smoke in my face. The drunk people were entertaining while at the concert but not so entertaining watching those people later behind the wheel driving all over the road. I am all about having a good time. If you want to drink so be it but don't be so selfish to drive. Ok I should stop that soapbox before I even start. Just have NO tolerance for that!  One thing that was just as entertaining as the concert itself was watching this gal in front of us absolutely freak out b/c a frog jumped on her leg. I kid not it was a frog b/c they caught it and put it in a cup. It was hilarious. I guess she feels about frogs that way I feel about spiders. I have no doubt I might have acted the same b/c who expects to look down at their leg and see a frog looking back. Ok I get that this is one of those you had to be there to get how funny it was things. So there you have it. I have finally given my mom her Mother's Day gift. I am in the clear until next year.

Today was a perfect weather day. We went to the park! It was crowded! Big kids don't get home until after midnight so I am bummed I won't really see them until after work tomorrow. The triplets miss them.

Addendum: Big kids now not coming home until tomorrow. My mom called me earlier and said at one point no planes were leaving b/c of storms but now they were going to get on the plane and try and hurry off before next round of storms. Nick was crying (I am sure thanks to my mom freaking him out) and she wanted me to make the decision if they should fly or not. I said yes get my children home to me. Next phone call I get my mom and kids refused to get on flight at the very last minute. My stepdad was already on and would not come off b/c he has to work tomorrow. So off flew my stepdad, the plane and all the luggage. There stands my mom with Nick and Alexis and no Dave and no luggage. She is freaking (around my kids......wonderful thought). They are going to stay in hotel and fly home tomorrow morning. My poor children!! I just want them home. Drama..............

OOOOMMMMMGGGGG!!!

I did NOT see this coming. Shocked. Stunned. Speechless. Amazed. Incredibly poor now. Ok forget I said that last one. I LOVE IT!!!! Will get it put in my old setting next week. Did I say shocked yet!!!! Will blog more tomorrow...........

10 year Anniversary......

So it is our 10 year Anniversary and.............I am ON CALL!! Really going to need to have an anniversary celebration re-do when neither of us are on call (there has only been one day in the last 12 days where that has happened). Clark knows I love him (honey if you don't know it and you are reading, I love you). I am not the mushy type so picking a card is always challenging. I am always drawn to the funny ones but this year b/c some rude lady who was also getting an anniversary card at the same time took up all the space between her body and cart, I had to just reach around and be ok with the first card I got. It was ok. Nice but not sappy. I don't like sappy. Tonight I did get a babysitter (thanks Jessica) so we can at least go out to dinner.

It would have been great if I took the time to go back thru and find pictures of us from every year. I didn't. Kids wanted to go to the pool instead. We really have very few pictures of just the two of us. The first 3 pictures are us in Vegas and the last picture was us in Mexico a couple months before we were married.

So Clark....despite all odds and nearly all predictions we are still going strong. Here's to another 10 years!!!! Cheers!
