Disney Day 5....The Last Day

I can't even begin to say how tired we were by this point in the trip. I was more than ready for it to be over and on our way home. Still to maximize our time there, we had a late evening flight with plans to spend all day at Animal Kingdom.  We had tried since booking our trip to make reservations for the Tusker House for their character breakfast. It had been one of our favorites in the past. Each time we looked they had no available reservations. Clark decided we were going to try and just walk up and see what happens. Not something I would normally do, so I sat with the kids while he took this task upon himself. Not that long later he came up to me and said we were in. It wasn't until later that day that I asked him how he managed to accomplish this since the place was packed. He said he just went up to the desk asked if they were taking walk up people. They said no, and he said bummer b/c he was there with his 4 years old triplets, and he really was hoping they could experience this. He didn't push or say anything else, and the next thing he knew the lady was saying.  "let's just say you had a reservation" and printed out a sheet. Wow!! He said the couple behind him trying for the same thing were not so lucky. So we had our breakfast. Really the Animal Kingdom day was not that great. We were just so tired, and the kids were kind of over seeing things. We did the safari ride which was great b/c there were a ton of animals out, but towards the end some animals were blocking the road and we got stuck for longer than Ryan could handle. Other things we did included, Bug's Life show, Dinosaur ride, played a lot in Dinoland play area. We ate lunch at this barbecue place. We did not have the patience to wait for the Lion King show. I am sure the boys would have enjoyed it. Clark and I have seen it several times. We didn't do a ton. Finally we decided to just let the boys pick out their toys and head back to the hotel a little early before it was time to board the bus to go to the airport. When back that the resort we spent the last of our snacks and meals on the dining plans. We just got a bunch of candy to bring home for big kids b/c that counted as snacks and we had around 11 left. Basically we were going to use every last meal and every last snack b/c we felt like we paid for it. This explains how I came home looking way too fat!! The way home seemed to take forever. We had a layover (which was not long at all but annoying b/c the kids were tired). On the last flight they slept and trying to get them off the plane at midnight was challenging. They cried the entire walk to baggage claim. We arrived safely at home around 1am. Overall I would say this was a great trip. That is much easier to say now that it is over and I am looking back. We had great weather the entire time. Not a drop of rain and lots of sunshine. Kids enjoyed it!! Now I am ready for an adult only vacation.

The big kids had a good time while we were gone. Many people asked if they were mad they did not go to Disney. The big kids have been to Disney MANY times and this was the triplets first visit. They did not care since they knew we would not have time to go on all the big kid stuff unless we wanted to be completely separated the entire trip. Nick and Alexis spent half their time at Aunt Tammy's house playing with their cousins and the other half with my parents. They went to a Beauty and Beast show (that Nick thought was torture) and Jesus Christ Superstar show. I was very happy to see them when I got home. The day after we got home we had parent teacher conferences. Both Nick and Alexis got straight A's with all glowing remarks. Very proud:)

Disney Day 4....Hollywood Studios

Day 4 we went to Hollywood Studios. We got there as soon as it opened and rushed to sign the boys up to become Padawans. If you do not do this right away, you lose your chance. We were thrilled to get our spots b/c we knew this would be one of their favorite things in all the trip. My kids LOVE Star Wars. Then we at the Disney's Play N Dine restaurant for breakfast. I do think this is one of the best places to dine for the little ones. We saw Little Einsteins, Handy Mandy, Oso. The kids have times where they get to get up and dance with the characters. It was was great fun. After breakfast we went to the Little Mermaid show and did the Star Tours ride. The kids loved it and Ryan was the spy. He thought that was funny. Finally it was time to become Padawans. The kids were going to fight Darth. They loved it. I thought the gal in charge of all the kids was great and really funny. The boys still talk about how they are official Padawans. Other things we did at this park included, Indiana Jones Show, Cars show (which this time had a part with Lightening McQueen so that was cool), Disney Live on Stage, Tower of Terror (yes I took my boys on this and they did GREAT). We also took at least 3 trips to the Honey I Shrunk the Kids playground. Our big kids used to love this so I knew the boys would. We basically used it to bribe the boys all day (do this and we will take you back to the playground). For lunch we ate another sit down meal at the 50's Diner. We are less and less impressed by this place every time we go and next time it will be left off our list. The kids were horrible during lunch which didn't help. The day went rather fast and we simply ran out of time to do all we wanted. We lost our Toy Story fast pass b/c lunch took forever, so we never got to do that ride. The wait for it was 120 minutes. No chance we were going to stand in line for 2 hours. Ryan threw a fit whenever we stood in any line, let alone one that long. For dinner we ate at Melrose Place. This was something we just kind of picked for no reason. There were no characters. We almost changed it last minute and I am glad we did not. It was an Italian restaurant and the food was great. It was a nice change from the typical Disney food. I would have eaten a lot more (b/c my meal was awesome) but it was our 3rd sit down meal in a short period of time. I mentioned at the start of the day that I really wanted to see Fantasmic. When Clark told me that they recommended getting seats for the show 1.5 hours before it starts, I immediately said NO WAY. So after dinner we decided to run and check if Tower of Terror was available for a second trip. When we got there the wait was longer than I thought the kids could handle but the Fantasmic show we about to start. I said, "let's go to it and try and get a seat." I am glad we tried b/c there were plenty of seats and we didn't even have to wait 5 minutes before it started. It was a great show and the kids enjoyed it. The kids were all fast asleep in the bus as we had them going all day long once again!

Disney Day 3.....Magic Kingdom

We started our 3rd day off very very early with a 7:30am breakfast reservation at the Polynesian Resort (Lilo and Stitch character breakfast). In order to arrive on time I had to wake the boys before 6am (nothing like getting our monies worth). At breakfast we saw Lilo, Stitch, Pluto and Mickey. The kids enjoyed the parade part where they got to walk around shaking instruments. After breakfast we made our way to the Magic Kingdom. We were there when it first opened, so we got to see all the characters ride up on the train, greet everyone and open the park. We did several of the rides including, small world, pooh ride, stitch, Buzz ride, cars, rocket, tea cups, merry-go-round, splash mountain, thunder mountain, pirates of the caribbean. Might be missing some but not sure. We saw a parade. We ate lunch/dinner at the Crystal Palace. This was another character meal. The kids were starting to melt down b/c it was becoming such a long day, so I convinced Clark and for the sake of our children (or really my own sanity) we needed to leave before the 9pm fireworks and electrical night parade. When we got back to the hotel my go go go husband was feeling bummed b/c he wanted the boys to experience the fireworks, etc. The kids seemed to regain some type of energy that I just could not figure out. I, on the other hand, was feeling really nauseated. There was no way I could go back to the park. It was all I could do to not puke. Clark decided he was taking the boys back by himself. YES...he is a crazy man. Although he is 13 years older than me, he runs circles around me:) So back to the park they went. I slept. The kids had a lot of energy right up until when things started and then they started to fade. Clark describes the bus ride home as difficult b/c they were all asleep and he could only hold/carry one. Getting 3 sleeping 4 year olds off the bus by himself was no doubt a challenge. Still he was glad they got to enjoy that. I was glad I didn't puke and got to rest.

Clarks favorite ride is the tea cups. He didn't care that we were riding with 4 year old kids. He was going to make that cup go as fast as he possibly could. I love rides and still I thought I could vomit!
