Disney Day 2.....Blizzard Beach

Our second day of Disney was a great day. We started the morning very early with breakfast reservations for the 1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridian. Like most character breakfasts at Disney this was buffet (all you can eat) style. The kids got to enjoy the Mickey waffles and other food while seeing Mary Poppins, Alice, Mad Hatter, Pooh, and Tigger. The boys used to love (by love I mean watch over and over and over) Mary Poppins so this was a treat for them. After breakfast we headed to the Blizzard Beach water park. I have been to both water parks many times and prefer this one. I knew this would be a day the kids loved b/c they love to just run and play. The small kid area was great b/c there were several slides they could go down and it was enclosed enough that they could run all around playing while we basically stood to make sure we always could account for everyone. Clark took the boys on some bigger water slides which were lots of fun. They even did the racing one down the steep hill. I thought this might make them scared and while they were all three hysterical when they stopped (so much so that getting them off the path was hard) it was not b/c they were scared. They were very mad/upset that Clark beat them. I tried to explain it was not a race (or at least not a fair one b/c he of course he was going to go faster since he weighs more) but they weren't buying it. Needless to say we did not go on that again. They loved the big wave pool and the lazy river. They also loved the big family water slide (see pic below). We went on that several times in a row and only on the last go did I opt out so I could get a picture. The weather was perfect for our water park day. We stayed at the water park until they kicked us out. Then we rushed back to the resort and quickly showered and were off again to Downtown Disney for dinner and shopping. We ate at Captain Jack's restaurant. We really wanted to eat at the Rainforest Cafe or T-rex restaurant that is like the rainforest but only dinosaurs but neither was on the dining plan. Dinner was fine but took forever. After we went to the big toy store and the Lego store. I think Ryan was in Heaven in the Lego store. He was good enough to get a toy this day. He picked a small Star Wars Lego. Adam and Landon bought Pirates of the Caribbean figure sets. We also stopped at the Art of Disney store b/c we have one huge Disney canvas painting in our basement with plans to use Disney as the theme for basement decorations (since the basement is basically a huge kid play area). We just never got around to putting anything else up. We bought two more large Disney canvas paintings from the same artist. They will arrive in a few weeks. We also have all our Disney pins displayed in shadow boxes. That pretty much sums up our second day. It was a great day and the kids had lots of fun!
