Humpty Dumpty: Disney Day 1

Our Disney trip was a short whirl wind of adventure. We started very early in the morning with a 7am flight. I thought it was going to be hard to get the boys up, but the excitement of the trip helped when I was telling them to get dressed at 4:30am. There were no complications at the airport but as soon as we walked up to the gate, they were already boarding. Glad we left the house when I wanted and not when Clark wanted or we might have missed it. We arrived at Disney a couple hours later. We took the Magic Express bus to our Disney hotel, Port Orleans, Riverside. Now this is not at all my favorite moderate hotel, but it was one of the only ones that did not charge more for 5 in a room. We had no plans to stay at the high end resorts b/c we don't spend much time at all in our room or at the resort. At Disney we are go go go kind of people. Luckily our room was ready when we got there so we stopped by quickly and dropped off our carry-on bags and then headed to Epcot. We picked the park we thought the kids would like the least for the first day b/c it was going to be the shortest. At Epcot we spent all our time in the front of the park and never even traveled to the countries in the back. The kids will be more interested in that part once they get a little older. We started with the ride in the Epcot ball. It was fine but Adam pushed the Chinese language in our seat so we didn't understand a thing that was being said. We did the Nemo ride, looked at fish, and did the talk with Crush show next. Then we ate lunch at the Coral reef restaurant. It was our first time eating there, and I thought it was a nice sit down meal. We were on the deluxe dining plan so we had 3 sit down meals (each with appetizer, meal and dessert) per person per day. It was a ton of food. This restaurant is surrounded by the aquarium so you get to watch sharks, other various fish and huge sea turtles swim by while eating. After lunch we did the test track. While the kids were not so happy waiting in line, they loved the ride. Ryan nearly broke my back b/c he made me carry him while waiting and then fell asleep (total dead weight). We did the Soarin ride which the kids LOVED. That was our one fast pass ride of the day. We also did the boat ride where you look at them growing all the fruits and veggies. Finally we watched the Circle of Life show. We ended our day eating a character meal at the Garden Grill. Also a new place for us. It was great b/c the food was good, the restaurant spins, and the kids loved seeing their first characters. After that we called it quits and went back to the hotel and went to bed. Overall the first day was a success. Our Disney trip policy has always been that, if good, the kids get to pick out one toy each day. It was no surprise that the very first day, Ryan was not good enough to get a toy. We felt like we had to stick with this as hard as it was just to teach a lesson early on. I think Landon picked some 5 dollar sword and Adam picked a gun. Here are a few first day pictures.
